Right .......the wires that are under the accellerater pedal - any idea what they are?

Nah, easy one this. The accelerator pedal is a "drive by wire" accelerator rather than the traditional mechanical linkage arrangement of older cars. :nerd:

By the way, thanx for the compliment but T_T knows much more about the 'mechanicals' of cars than I do. I do know a fair bit about the Mk5 GTI though and I'm constantly learning more every day from people like the guys here. :smiley:

Yeah, I agree.  I was very surprised when I first saw them like that.  A bit of VW penny pinching, by not enclosing them in some conduit.
