Looks stunning - you've now got the joys of keeping a black car clean!

I take it Mrs Illy, and Illy junior are also pleased!

Yes, sorry guys. I have taken photos and they will be posted later today. Just frustrating having to run it in - but that should be done by the end of the week
You know it must be run in correctly, and it will be worth it in the long run. BTW, what service regime has it been set for?
Don't regret buying DSG although I have to learn how to use the paddle shifts correctly - RedRobin might be able to give some advice on that - as it can be a bit of a bummer negotiating a tight corner when suddenly the transmission decides to shift up a gear midway, but hey I knew that when I decided on getting DSG.
Firstly, I would advise against using the paddles for the first 600miles or so, and never use the paddles until it is at normal operating temperature, even when run in. This is because the DSG has a "cold start" dynamic shift pattern, which will hold the revs slightly higher in each gear during the warm up phase.
The knack to successful "paddle use" is to ensure you keep your hands on the steering wheel at the "quarter to three" position, resting your thumbs on top of the spokes. When cornering, keep your hands there, and don't use the old skool "push-pull" method of feeding the wheel. The only time you can't successfully use the paddles, is when emerging from a stationary T junction - at those times, Robin and I seem to agree that using the floor gear lever to shift from 1st to 2nd is the only realist, and smooth way. Once you are clear of the junction, it's back to the paddles. On roundabouts, paddles can be used all the time, as they generally don't have any tight turns.
I think the brake discs may be warped as there is a slight judder when I brake and I can feel the vibration on the brake pedal. Something to sort out on Saturday if it doesn't disappear.
Hmmm . . . I doubt the discs are actually warped. It may simply be a build up of rust where the pad was stationary next to the disc, and salt spray at the docks, and washing/valeting at the dealer added to the problem. You should be able to see a faint outline of the pad image etched into the surface of the disc, and if you can see it, let us know, and I'll explain how to get rid of it.
