Service light?
« on: 27 February 2004, 12:40 »
Ive at last found a a decent vw garage, localish to me to give my car it's 40,000 mile service 3,000miles late but better late than never!
What im wondering is if the service isn't done at a dealers then will the service reminder light continue to beep at me everytime i start up? Or will the car recoginise that ive done a good thing for it an stop beeping at me? ???

Its all better now very shiny, but now the windows have gone again! and shocks are squeaking like mice!!aarrgghhh

The sevice indicator is reset manually, rather than via the car realising its been done.

There was a post only a couple of days ago regarding how to reset it, have a trawl through the Mk4 section, its no more than a week old

hold down mileage button for 5 secs, then whilst still holding turn on the ignotion, then release mileage button and turn clock button left or right to get '---' displayed then that sit, ignition off, then then turn on and error gone!!! if dosnt work try again!! but twist clock nob other way!!
