Oil in intake
« on: 04 September 2007, 08:39 »
Im in the process of swapping the engine in my 16v. The last one started a bottom end rattle. Im using the inlet system of the old engine, but Ive noticed its all quite oily inside the inlet manifold, and the pipe that goes from the filter to the throttle body etc.
Any idea whats happening?

all 16v's breath oil into the air intake. i run the oil level on my 16v at the halfway point on dipstick

if its real bad then you can make a catch tank for the breather instead of it going into the airbox.

you should take all the intake components of and give them a good clean out
