will the 1600 gti gearbox fit the 1800 im thinking it will, im removing my engine and a dude on here wants it for his 1800.

Pretty sure they're the same on all 5 speed mk1's but you can confirm here if you know your gearbox code

yes it will fit, the only thing to worry about is if all the mounting bracket studs are there.  If its from a MK1 and goin in a MK1 then it will defo fit!  Only thing is you'll need to check the spline on the box input shaft is the same size as your old one, otherwise you'll need to change the clutch friction disc to suit.  I'm 99% sure it will fit straight on though!
