I'm getting a new car tomorrow.........

I know it might be sad, but i'm looking forward to tomorrow afternoon when this turns up:










Yes it might look gash, but i don't think it's ever going to see the road again. The engine will be going in my A reg gti and hopefully creating quite a beast:

2.0 16v
new clutch 2k miles ago
top end rebuild at same time as clutch
WUR mod done
166bhp 145 lb/ft

Should be fun!  :cool:

Oh, and for all you vultures out there, the rest of the car will be stripped so get your orders in now  :grin:

That looks better than some of the Mk2's I've test drove (described as "Mint" in the ad of course!).

Haven't got a clue about the centre console tbh, but i do have a spare one anyway if it is no good. I'd imagine it does have a sunroof with it being a gti.

I can confirm all of this tomorrow when the car arrives.

Keep me informed, my wind deflecter on my sunroof is naff, so could do with a new one,
and centre console is cracked so something else to go on the shopping list

with it being an F-reg is might be lucky enough to have the 256mm brakes also on it. 1989 cars are the changeover cars so last of small bumper 16v's have 256mm setup

Looks more like an interesting project to me. Nothing in the photos I can see that can't be fixed. A little welding for a new back panel and a couple more new panels. Is it rusted out underneath?

It's a cat c write off and just isn't worth the time/hassle when i have a perfectly fine shell for it to go in.

Another reason is insurance. On my 8v gti i'm paying £520, with this engine it will be £610. For a standard 16v it would cost me £750 for the year. How mad is that!?
