how much is a cab glovebox from vw? and whats the part # ?

my car doesnt have a passenger side airbag, so ive got a normal glovebox too.. lol

btw my '96 polo had a drivers side glovebox, very cool... missed it for a while.
Used to have a '97 MK3 16v GTI 3dr in 'Black Magic'... now have a '55 Civic Type-S...

Ah excellent would be interested to know about the Mk1 glve box too as I have a passenger airbag (factory fit so no idea how to wire it in - sorry) and there is nowhere to keep anything as soon as you put your foot down everything falls of that stupid shelf!!

Dunno part number just asked for Mk3 cab glovebox and it just replaces shelf under passenger airbag.Got mine from a scrappy which was mint and 20 quid.Undo screws and bosh ;)

Why exactly do you want to fit a passenger airbag?

i used to work in the airbag industry and it is not something I would attempt.

I presume you already have a driver airbag.  The driver airbag is far more important than the passenger airbag as it protects you from injuring your chest and/or face against the steering wheel. On the passenger side there is no steering wheel so, providing the passenger is wearing a seat belt, the prescence of an airbag is not so crucial.

It just seams a lot of trouble to go to in order to gain a minimal benefit.  Also, if I recall correctly the complete fascia is different on cars with a passenger airbag.
