Job wanted!
« on: 28 August 2007, 13:44 »
Hello all.

Im looking to get into mechanics and was wandering if any body could help me in any way? I have a very basic mechanical knowledge and did all the work on my mk2 after i had a dissagreement with a stag on the way home one night after work. Im applying for apprentice mechanics positions at audi and vw but that could take a while apparently. I live a couple of miles from stonor park so if any one nearish needs an apprentice mechanic or something similar please get in contact!

Thanks people.

Good luck with it mate
Can you not do mechanics at a technical college?
I know one near me that does it and I think its fairly common place

You might have missed enrollment for this year though unfortunately I think

Ah right , you would probably still get on an apprentiship scheme , but youd have to go collage with a load of 16yos which could be troublesome , and ontop of that pay would be pretty poor , was 8 years ago i did mine but i started at £64 for a 40 hour week , i dont even think apprentiships are covered by minimum wage

if you want to go into it do it maybe liked been said see about doinf a collage course and work from there , i know some place do take on semi skilled spanner men and if you show an aptitude and ambition they should train you up to be fully skilled
