Shell V-Power differences between the countries
« on: 27 August 2007, 09:27 »
I am confused.  :embarassed:

Here in Switzerland I tank Shell V-power 100 (I assume it is 99 or better RON and has some special additives, compared to other's 98 fuel).
In France they have only Shell V-power 98.

Is it the same fuel or not?  :undecided:

I recently got Shell V-Power 100 easily on the French autoroutes, north to far south, but not in the local rural stations.

I checked Shell's webpage www.shell.fr and they only mention V-Power 98. That is what is written on the pumps. I pumped at a station close to Paris, comung from the south, close to Auxerre.

....Perhaps I was assumimg that pumps marked V-Power were delivering 100 octane fuel when in fact they're not.

What p!sses me off is that I've got Shell cards for several European countries but the points aren't transferred to my UK 'account'.

On the big Shell station, where I got V-Power, the pump was marked V-Power 98. The station did not sell any other 98 fuel.
How come Shell has different V-power in different countries, that is strange. Shell also has V-Power Racing fuel, which should be 100 RON. Where the hell can one get that??? Strange marketing they have, Shell.  :undecided:

I've used Shell V-Power in Switzerland recently (marked as "100") and I felt the car ran better (perf and economy) than on UK V-Power. No idea if it's 100-octane or not but certainly good fuel.

And in Switzerland it's 75p a litre
