I sold a V6 Syncro. They need Eibach springs or coilovers to sort the handling.
Even then they have little steering feel.
nice and comfy but hardly a sports car.

Hmm.. i'm really not sure what to do may just hold out for what i really want. A 20vT mk4 or a TDI 150 or even sort the mk2 out

Unless you have to commute a long way, stick with the mk2, you'd miss it if u sold it.

My brother has an S reg Passat 1.8 20v non-Turbo, bought in April for about £900 on 130k.
It's a very comfortable car, but a little under-powered for the size only having 125bhp, but would the extra 25bhp of the turbo model make enough difference to make it sporty.

I got bored of mine and bought a Mk2 G60 Edition One instead.

and it had cruise, heated leather, climate, etc etc

couldn't deal with LHD though.

If you want comfort and up to date technology then get it, if you don't, don't.
