I'm only repeating what several magazines have achieved!

Every independant test has smashed the 0-0 time stated by VW.

But hell, I'm always up for a race, whether I win or not, so the next meet that has a strip, lets go for it!

What is the spec of your car?
150bhp at what rpm?
what is peak torque(in lbs ft) and at what rpm?

Pretty sure its:

150bhp @ 4k rpm
236lb ft @ 1900 rpm

I'm sure someone will let me know if thats wrong, but its not a million miles away.

What does your car rev up to?
Its interesting as your car will accelerate harder than a v6 up to 4000rpm.
However the v6 doesn't reach peak power (174bhp) until 5800rpm, at this rpm the v6 still produces 157.56 lb ft of torque.
This might explain why the v6 is so quick.

for F**k sake

bottom line

the VR6 will beat the 150 PD TDI in a 0-60 dash

but the 150 PD TDI will piss all over the VR6 in a 30-70mph dash in 3rd gear!

... the VR6 = faster 0-60 style acceleration

The 150PD = faster in gear acceleration

To be perfectly honest, under normal driving, I've normally grabbed another gear at that point, as its done its best by then. Power and torque fall off pretty steeply from that point.

I'd much rather be sat at the point of peak torque, rather than on the declining curve, if you get what I mean.

It runs out of steam at about 4500rpm I think (its too cold outside to go and look!)

It took some getting used to, as it does require a modified driving style - much like you can get caught out in a very high revving car if you're doddling along at 2k rpm, you can get caught out in the PD when sitting at 4k rpm needing more go - the solution is the same in both cases, grab another gear!

Another thing

0-60 VR6 wins

In gear 150PD wins

in a DRAG race ... got knows who wins, but

VR6 = 12mpg
150PD = <30mpg

LMAO
