Funny Noise

Some Please help me I have this noise coming from my car its like a rattle sounds like it is coming from the area near the hand brake but as i go faster the noise gets louder has anybody ideas it is drivin me mad

Loose CAT heat sheild?

Bolt at front of cat shield is often missing on these cars! Its vibrates undone over the miles. The shield is still well secured with out it but not many people realise there is a tiny nut the other side of the shied between the shield and the cat. With out the bolt this rattles and vibrates like mad. Bend the shield out abit get it the nut out and bend it back and you generally notice a big difference!!!

You say that the noise gets louder the faster you go.
But does the noise get faster the faster you go, if yes then it will be something attatched to the drive.

But that would be further forward than the handbrake so forget i said anything i'm just thinking outloud. Ahh shut up jim your making a pratt of yourself now. And to top it off your talking to yourself again.
