I've been offered a Porsche 924 with a blown headgasket for ?500.
Are they any good?
Worth getting or not?

Its got an Audi 2.0L short block and a porsche cylinder head, and it runs k-jetronic fuel injection.
Very similar to early 8v golfs  :D

the wheels would be worth that alone if you got them polished I guess. Can't really go wrong for ?500 if you fancy a nice project car.

they are a bit 'hairdresser' but someone at work has one for track days so could be fun :)

they are likely to be these wheels

which aren't anything special

Got to be worth a monkey mate.  Even if it takes a year to get it sorted it'll be worth it.  The engines surprisingly simple.

At ?500 I'd go with it. With your tech knowledge it won't take you long to get it up and running, and it will be cracking car, especially for that money.

I remember reading something that might of suggested the Porsche 924 was made by VAG.

The only possible problem is making sure that you dont need any special tools to get the head off.
