took my 188,000 mile mk2 for its mot and it only failed on a ball joint. the joy of volkswagen ownership ;D ;D

took mine for mot the other day . 168k 16v 1989 model went straight through . You just cant beat mk2's hehehehehe ;D ;D ;D
