Can you do us a favour - scientific of course - baut can you ask tham if the Rockinham wheels are an option??

My understnading is they arent, although you can buy them. You therefore have the car delivered and then the dealer puts the 4 'Detroit' alloys on and puts your Pescaras in the boot

mmm -Still hardly a deal when the germans can have either or at no cost extra!

I'll ask the wheel question when I drop off my documents etc on Saturday. Can't say what the stealer offered for the GTI as that would jeopardise my wee "for sale" advert on this wonderful site

Not too bad I reckoned as it books at £16.5k. He was quite generous but I have bought 4 cars from him so far in the last 12 months or so (not all for me but various family members plus the wife's MK4 ultra slow 2.0 GTI 3bhp thing)

I'm not the type who normally would succumb to the ED30 blurb but this time the deal was a no brainer. Ok so I pay more over the entire finance term but I reckon that using the MK4 anniverasy as a benchmark, the residuals will claw a chunk of that back when it comes to swap for a MK6 or maybe and IROC ...........

Actually my sister did the worldwide press launch of IROC in Germany and has driven the green "concept" car. She says it's fitted and finished like a production car so let's hope they don't change it too much and bring out a 1litre low emmission rubbish one to drag down the VR6.

Used to have a Corrado so IROC seems like a nice idea to me.

Speaking of wheels, i'm keeping the BBSch that are on my car and putting the Monzas backon for trade in so there may be some new Pescaras about if anybody fancies them. Pm me?

Haven't you knackered a couple of your Monza's?  Just remember you posting that.

just for you paulm007.............. as reliable as a number 7 bus, yes well done, if mine was on hire purchase then it would be a good move, but ,mine isnt and your paying overall way over the odds on hire purchase aggreement with any car, cus the dealer makes a fortune out of the deal. (but will make you feel like theyve done you a very good deal by extending your term of payments. No downers about your purchase though, cracking wagen and worth spending the money on, just need to find a wife that'll let me trade up sooner then another yr!!  never mind, all i need is a daily dose of you ed 30 owners pulling your HUGE trumpets daily on this here website!!  keep up the good work

TBH - I don't really understand the grief between Ed30 and GTi owners... both cars are GTi's, both cars are good....nah, superb!!  End of story!  The Edition 30 is arguably a "better" GTi, but that is all a matter of personal opinion, for me if I had the funds I would get an ED30 plain and simple as I love the body kit, the interior mods and the idea of an extra 30BHP!!  However some people will not judge it worth the extra outlay.

So perhaps people can stop their pissing up the wall competition?  Smacks of playground "my dad is harder than your dad" conversations... and at the grand old age of 31 I for one have grown out of that

P.S. For the record, my dad IS harder than your dad
Mk 5 GTi, Tornado Red, Leather, Xenons, 18" Monza II's, Sunroof, 6CD in Armrest, Winter pack & Tinted Windows... soon to be adding ED30 front spoiler, plus R32 sideskirts... then getting fully colour coded!
New engine fitted when car was at 27k... last one went "noisey".

Yup I have 2 knackered Monzas but the Stealer doesn't care so that's fine with me. He's probably going to stick some replicas on it for £100 a wheel.
