VDO RPM Wierd

When iv been out for a drive in her and turn the key once so dash LED's light up my RPM stick on the dial tweeks every time i turn the ignition on and off sometimes it goes right up to the red and back some times it tweeks up to 20/30 ect wierd to me. I asked my old man he said there might be an electrical fault but the car is fine starts fine... anyone else experience this?

could be a dodgy earth somewhere, take the dash under tray out and check out any brown wires tyhat look a bit suspect, plus any you find in the engine bay
