My first Gti 16v and a stooopid question.....
« on: 07 August 2007, 17:03 »
My first Golf.......

She is  a '92 K plate 16 valve 127k miles with FSH. Totally standard and that's the way its staying...from the outisde anyway

Oh and that silly car-bra has gone already.

MOT until Oct but put it through one anyway and passed with no advisories, had the gear linkage done and in the process of fixing a few niggly things, replace the EL switch, fixing the air blower directional change thing and generally giving her a good tidy. Seats out and vaxed, carpets cleaned etc.......

Anyway now for the stupid question..........where does the Jack go? I have a bracket on the left hand side of the boot that looks like it should fit on, but I cannot make it happen...help  :embarassed:

the bracket is for a first aid kit, the jack should go in a plastic holder, which then sits in the spare wheel and is held down by a rubber band type thing with a hook on either end. the plastic holder should also have a wheel brace and a 10mm/13mm spanner.

Very nice, white is denfinatley the best
Just got some very minor rust to sort out, get the wheels perfect and then out with the polishing kit.

Yeah similar to me, haven't got any rust on mine but getting my RA's refurbished soon and getting a full detail done with paint correction, get rid of some of the swirls that have built up over 15 years!

Yours is even later than mine, not many k plates about.

Get some more pics up when you've cleaned her up!

very nice looking, pitty it aint an 8v

nah, white is a great colour for cars! mines got about 3 bits of rust that im doing slowly, one is under the rear passenger wheel arch, which im doing this weekend, and other is on the passenger door sill where the door seal ends meet. and rest is in the tailgate

so much easier to spot though on a white car  :embarassed:
