Carpet cleaning - HELP
« on: 05 August 2007, 00:58 »
My gf dropped a cup of coffee in my mk2. The carpet is sticky. Whats the best way to give it a through clean? I was thinking about buying a DIY steam cleaning kit? What do you think?

Thanks.

^^ Thats about the best bet, my brother knocked over a big cup of coffee in the front footwell of the car and although he worked his nuts off cleaning it with hot soapy water and good carpet cleaner it still stank for a few months because of the milk in it. As said a realy good thorough clean and whenever you drive it put the blower on full blast from the footwell vents and if you have dry garage leave it with all the windows open whenever you can, good luck

I used a wall stripper to steam clean my car, worked a treat.

the carpets are pretty rigid, so you might have a job getting it in a machine... i'd whipe it out and get a jet wash on it or just get a friendly valeter to steam clean it, shouldn't cost much.
