It was a GTI Farenheit. It comes in that orange.
The rims are extras and I would not say that its chavtistic like a Ford. You might offend the Vortex who love the car :evil:3
Oh ya.

That car has won a few awards at shows (Could the owner please correct me if Im wrong?)
Besides. I dont see tacky ST badges all over it

ST is not as bad as you may think. It handles better than GTI, it also sounds more interesting. It looks more boy-racer than GTI and does not reach the quality feel of GTI, but it is chaper to buy.

Would I change my Ed30 for ST? No-damn-way.

The pics posted here just makes me, if possible, even more convinced that Ed30 should be 3-door. 5-door version has tooo much of "family car"-look.

St is the GTI's rival.

Ok. Some reports do state its more fun to drive. But you expect that in a Ford thats been slapped together in half a month (You dont see a waiting list for the ST do you?)
Its sound. I have never heard one but from whatever reports I have read it apparently sounds good. IMO I still think the GTI has a stunning sound. compared to the Bmw's we have had and even our old VR6. The GTI just sounds class.
Then the actual finish. GTI has been in production for 30 years. Ford Focus? Maybe 4 or 5? (Im not to sure)
The interiors? GTI wins. Overall the GTI is still the hothatch and no matter what magazine you read. They always report liking the Ford more. But still the GTI just wins. (They may not actually state this but you get that impression).

I agree completely with you Peskarik. But the point remains. The GTI is an icon. If reporters over the world (jeremy Clarkson for example) say that itds the most awesome car he has ever driven. Then you cant really compare.

And hell no. The GTI is here to stay!

P.S- This post contains no bias, prejudice and does not intend to offend anyone )

Could I just possibly make a statement?

Im not posting these pics to create a discussion about how bad someones car looks, or how good. Im posting purely to help Man_GTI choose new rims and maybe give him some creative ideas.  :nerd:

Indeed - each to their own...  I was stating my opinion

I am all for mods to individualise your car, especially when done tastefully (a la the Rob-Mk5's quite white GTi)... mind you, taste is of course subjective

Each to there won. Im just supplying the pics
Mk 5 GTi, Tornado Red, Leather, Xenons, 18" Monza II's, Sunroof, 6CD in Armrest, Winter pack & Tinted Windows... soon to be adding ED30 front spoiler, plus R32 sideskirts... then getting fully colour coded!
New engine fitted when car was at 27k... last one went "noisey".
