Finding the brakes are lacking tho. Dunno if i shud get some Brembos or R32 ones.

....I don't think the R32 ones fit the Mk5 - Illogical but true (I think!).

The Mk5 R32 anchors will fit the GTI - you just need to make sure you get the caliper carrier from the R32 too.

Oh, and you'll have to have 18"s for the R32 anchors.

Just a quick add on for anyone thinking of doing this, if you have a puncture on the front the spare wont fit over the r32 caliper.

You would need to put the spare on the rear, the put the full size from the rear onto the front.

....That's what I would have to do with my AP Racing front discs. Fortunately my one and only puncture so far stayed up long enough to get to a tyre shop.

Yebut, if you have 18"s as a factory fitted option, rather than the poverty spec standard 17"s, then the space saver spare is also an 18" - so there should be no need with the swapping faffery!
