I have had some real odd insurance deals.

Some declined to quote
some insisted on a Thatcham alarm
Some said you had to be over 30 (all drivers, which is OK for me but not the wife)
Some said you have to have a full licence so my wife couldn't drive it due to provi licence.

They are a real pain.

Any one with Flux? Good Bad?

Other suggestions?

well I picked the car up last night and so far so good, couple of minor problems, any assistance would be good.

Needs exhaust, back box a must not sure on the rest yet, how much for a standard back box?
Drivers side window switch that controls the passenger window is faulty(should be able to get one on ebay or the breakers)
Catch on glove box is busted (currently loads on ebay)
Has two alarms, a Logic 800 VAG alarm wich is very odd as you have to plug in the controller in the passenger footwell and the botton to plip the doors has worn out, also has a thatcham 2 immobiliser with the cert which is good.

Other than that its great, for 171K miles it runs sweet, just a little to much noise from the zorst (just sounds knackered rather than meety)

Breaks are fab, clutch is smooth, engine pull is good.

There is a very slight whine from the power steering but you have to be a fox to hear it so not to concerned on that.

Its off the road at the mo until I can sell me current car and becos of the insurance I need to wait until September before I can cancel my current policy and sell the rover, then I will be up and running, can't wait

Still any suggestions on the above issues are welcome.

Thanks.

If she hasnt passed her test yet you won't need to worry about her driving it as the insurance for a new driver (how old she?) will astronomical.

Lots of people disconnect the window motors when they start having problems and then when they sell they tell you it's just the switch when infact you need a whole new regulator. Had this problem with my Mk3 16v.

Busted Glove box catch is so common, I just went to GSF and bought one brand new for about £12, saved the effort of waiting around for ebay deliveries and got it fixed in 5mins.

My wife is 27, but Elephant want £425 with all facts declared, this is only £35.00 more than my 1.4 rover.

If she had her licence then it would of been about £20 cheaper.

I have just discovered the Joy of GSF, they are cheap, like them lots, the Northampton Branch quoted £40 for the back box and they have it in stock, may have to get some pennies together and go up there with a shopping trolly for parts, good idea just getting a new one if the price is right, how easy to fit, do you just remove the handle or the whole door card?
