mfa / Clocks
« on: 29 July 2007, 19:11 »
ok ive had a problem with my MFA for a while now, revs and mfa will work for a few seconds and the coolent light will flash. I have read every other relevant post and checked every thing i can think of. Starting to think the clocks maybe knackerd, what sort of price would i be looking to pay for a new set of clocks?

I have this prob!

Have you checked earths, voltage reg, connectors on the back and everything?

I got my fella (like a typical woman) to check all this yesterday to no avail  :undecided:

So now I also need to know how much for new clocks.... although it seems they may have already been replaced once

I bought some replacement clocks off Ebay for £20. There's always some on there. Mine were the bog standard 120mph single plug type but I believe the 160mph 16V ones are more sought after.

Also, I went to the VW Harewood House, Harrogate show last year and there were some for sale there. The next one is on Aug 19th iirc.

New clocks go for between 10 and 25 quid on ebay. I got some that say 56k on them lol, should be fun come MOT time  :undecided:

This could answer (one of) my probs - revs work, MFA doesn't but speedo cable is broken. Could the latter two be related? Need to fix the speedo cable asap and am hoping the MFA display might magically reappear... ;)

lol my clocks say alot less mileage than what the MOT does so I will have the same problem come that time of year, but sure my friendly garage will sort something out luckily made a note of both mileages
