Just ordered the H7 - Osram SilverStar H7 x 2 for the Mainbeam and dipped...will let you guys know what i think when i get them....being a bit of a noob again....are they easy to fit or would it be better to take to a garage??

Erm, if that is your actual car in your signature pic, then you will have an extremely difficult job to fit any H7 into the dipped beams, as you already have HIDs.  :smug:

The main beams are relatively easy to fit, but the parking lamps can be quite fiddly.

Unfortunatley no, thats not my car...i dont have xenons...i have the normal headlights.... (dam second hand cars) lol

OK, then the outer dipped beams may be a barsteward.  It might be easier to remove the front bumper and headlamp and change the bulbs like so.  Relevent manuals can be found in my extremely helpful sticky!  http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=54324.0

Do you HAVE to take the bumper of...dont think my dad will be to happy fiddling round with the bumper of the car lol

Well, either you (and a helper) will have to remove the bumper, or you will have to pay the garage to do so!

Front bumper removal is really quite common these days, on most cars.  Providing you downloaded the relevent pdf manual, it is really quite straightforward.  The fiddly bit will be the headlamp washers, but you dont have them.  Just make sure you have a big enough piece of cardboard or carpet to lay the bumper on once you take it off.

How can i get that PDF manual on the link to save on my comp?? Expecting the lights any time this week so....should be prepared :)

Hover your mouse pointer over the link, then right click, and select "save target as" - that will store it on a directory on your own hard drive - http://volkswagen.msk.ru/body/g5/g5_63-02.pdf

No "VAG" tools, but you will need a decent Torx drive set, and plenty of patience for your first time.

So I take it you managed to download the PDF - what was stopping you?
