Where are the Sensors ?

Where does the signals come from for the dials ?

Ok, some of these you may not have depending on the age of the car:
Rev counter - from the coil, red/black wire
Temp guage - in a sensor bolted to one of the coolant flanges, on the front or right side - red/yellow wire
Oil warning - 2 sensors, one in side of head, the other in oil filter housing
MFA oil temp - sensor in oil filter housing, green wire
VDO Oil temp - sensor in oil filter housing usually
VDO Oil Pressure - Large sender in oil filter housing
Speedo - cable to gearbox
Dash MPG guage needle & upshift light - sensor on gearbox
MFA MPG display - Vacuum hose to engine somewhere
MFA Speed/Distance readout - Sensor on back of speedo

but ? its got a weird engine combo

also where should is the petrol sensor ? :P

in the fuel tank, find the metal plate under the rear seat :)

'conneced to a random black wire' thats your low pressure warning, peel back the black outer insulation is there another wire colourt underneath?
'actually no wire to connect' thats the mfa oil temp wire
The white plug behind the dash will have all the wiring for the sensors you need, you just need to find & identify the engine bay side ;)

Also, if you didn't start with a GTI with MFA, quite a few wires will be missing...

Yeah i think alot of wires will be missing
this car started out as a 1.5

but then had a GTI comb engine

i have a picture of the engine bay
