VW marketing BS
« on: 20 February 2004, 20:17 »
I'm sorry, i've seen the latest Mk5 ad and I think its rubbish.

Did anyone notice that by the time it said - "30 years in the making" it was surrounded by old men?

Did someone at the ad agency screw up? Did someone not quite think this through.

The Mk1 was made by young guy, the Mk2 was made when they were a little older......

By the time they got to the Mk5 those designers were of pensionable age, and we are meant to think this is a car for the young?!!?! If you look carefully at the back of the ad you can see a zimmer frame.

And did anyone notice some of the equipment under the designers desks? Cardiac arrest units? Defibrilators!! And if you look carefully, one of them has an alarm thing round his neck for when he falls over. Face it, VW are telling us that their designers are close on to pegging it.

God knows what the Mk6 is gonna be like......

I went down to the VW dealership the other day to take a look and thought it was very nice, but also on the expensive side, ok I had a few nice extras on the spec list but it still came in at 22k! Ouch!  :o

Don't want to think what the price of the 200bhp gti will be when it comes out later in the year!  :-\

But ahem, straying........ I like the advert, I also like the one before with the different versions going through both clever adverts IMHO.
