Missing the GTi
« on: 24 July 2007, 19:50 »
Bought my GTI 6-7 weeks ago and when collected was told it had been serviced, anyway long storey but it hadn't.

As the dealer is about 60miles away I organised to drop my car off Saturday, collect a courtesy car and collect my car this coming Saturday. All sounds good other then spending a lot of time on two consecutive Saturdays driving to the garage. Also thought I would stick some miles on the loan car this week as doing a lot of travelling at work.....

Got to the garage, waited 45 minutes for the sales lad to come free only to be told the Mazda 3 they where going to give me had been sold on the Friday...guess what....they only had a top of the range Mazda.....2 1.4D  he sold it to me by saying it had air con and was good on fuel!!

What an absoulute piece of c%*p, to slow to get in trouble but also to slow to get out of trouble, done 390 miles in it since Sunday and feel physically and mentally drained + my head is banging from the constant noise of the engine, wind, tyres etc. Only plus is it does 75mpg with your foot down every where, put £35 in and its still over half a tank!!

Can't wait to get the GTi back, feeling sorry for myself now.

On a Landrover experience in the morning at Skipton (wifes cars a FL2), waited since April so looking forward to it, then from there to pick the GTi back.

Mazda 2 struggled a bit on Thursday, had 4 lads in + bags, for a night out in Newcastle.....still did 70mpg though. Done 650miles in a week in a 1.4d think I deserve a medal.

1.4D , that made me chuckle to myself. I feel for you.

Fair play on the 75MPG tho. Thats 2.6 times better than what I get :(.

75mpg or not, wearing a paper bag with eye holes in so no one recognises you is no fun. :smug:

Plus you would soon get tired of being overtaken by almost everything including lorries on the road
