Cat convertor & Back box?
« on: 24 July 2007, 11:43 »
Hi Guys,

just FYI - i have a golf mk4, 1999, gt tdi 110bhp, AHF code

i was wondering if someone would kindly post a diagram of my exhaust setup with part numbers for the cat and back box as i need to buy these.

also i was wondering if you knew of a good place i could pick these up from.  they need to be replaced as my turbo has blown and i am told that it has affected the above.

you can get an exhaust from http://www.jabbasport.com/product_detail.asp?CategoryID=27

i'll try and get you some images up later with the VAG part numbers.

you can check them yourself on www.vagcat.com

you'll have to register but its free

thanks bro, just had a looksie at the link and this is what i found that was the closest to my car?

Milltek MK4 1.9TDI PD Exhaust System

* With centre silencer (quieter)
* Twin round 76mm tailpipe
* Pipe diameter 69.85mm (2.5")
* Also available with discrete tailpipes
* REQUIRES 4-MOTION REAR VALANCE!!£333.00 inc VAT

just some questions, i hope u can help with

1 - its the only one i could find that was similar to my car.  would this be the right one as my golf is not a PD?

2 - also any cutting etc required, direct replacement? i am looking to get a very discrete and quiet one so not the twin round pipe...this is possible right?

3 - what are the benefits of this spec milltek compared to the standard exhaust system?

much appreciated

can't really say if it would fit, would probably say it wont though

pretty certain you two have got the same engine.

you should be able to get a discrete back box, the same style as the current one twin exit bent down, best bet is to give jabba a call and see what they say.

ok guys i paid £500 for a full system which include the cat back system and the de-cat pipe, is this an ok price.

do i have to get a custom map to benefit off my new Milltek, will the car be sloppy? what can i expect with the change over when i collect my car on the weekend without any custom map?

the reason i ask is that i am very much into my superbikes after a full system change they often run very off untill they get remapped. just wondering if its the same?
