dealer gave me wrong number plate

Hi,

The amazing dealership my car has come from could have got me in hot water , but could have also saved my license.

My car was delivered last november from the dealership and all seemed ok.  I went into VW to get some top up oil and the guy asked for the no plate which i promptly gave him, He replied "its not showing on our records, thats strange, it must be too new".  Anyway this happened another 2 times.

Yesterday i ask tell a mate about it, and he says, check the tax disc.  OH dear wrong plate, by one letter. So i phones up the dealership and they admit that they have put the wrong plate on my car. Yippeee so i can't have got done over the last 3 months, but i might have got collared if i had been pulled over. Well i wondered if i should leave them on there if it is not m fault.  But was told by a copper mate that stndard procedure is fr the police to check to see if any offences have been logged against the wrong nuimber plate and pass them on to me.  So i've changed but started with a fresh slate.

So, VW dealers are not always spot on!!!!!!!!

PS I GOT A PUNCTURE THIS MORNING, sNAPPED A SOCKET TRYING TO REMOVE THE WHEEL BOLTS, NOT TOO TIGHT THEN WERRE THEY!!!! THANKS AGAIN vw

It really doesn't inspire confidence if they can't even get the frigging number plate right!!

Going back a few years, my mate bought a Celica GT4 Caelos Sainz from HR Owen in London, and that had 2 of the three digits different, front to rear.

He drove round like that for 2 months, before it was pointed out to him by the police during a routine tug!

VW dealers are useless. Mine has been back 6 times because they can't seem to the job properly.

I'm sure in this legal society you could probably sue them for something , negligance perhaps? cos if you ran someone over then your insurance would not be covered! also check that mate, cos you might have your insurance under your old plate.
