A Big Hello
« on: 20 July 2007, 21:58 »
Hi all

My name is Gareth last time i was on a car forum i was on th Punto sports as i used to have a GT Turbo but now ive decided on a car that can do a few hundred miles with out breaking down. Heres my story.

My Dad gave his pride and joy 5dr Golf GTI

Spec

ATS cups, black and red leather interior, momo steering wheel and gear knob, single wiper conversion, kent can and wheel, four branch manifold finished off with a super sprint back box,gas flowed head, k &N induction sigma alarm and a few other tit bits.

Now i dont want to sound ungrateful but i hate five doors and the car has seen better days, its mostly pink and someone has keyed both sides. So i decied to buy a red three door with knacked engine and swap it all around.

So far ive stripped the five door and replaced all the good bits for standard that were on my donor. Now i have the task of putting the three door back togther with all the mods. So far ive done the seats this was easier than i thought and for anyone whos ever removed a seat from a golf will know what i mean. The bottoms of three door and five seats are exactly the same so there was no need to remove the leathers on those but for the backs i had to do it so that i could lift the latch for passengers to get in. My old man was cringing as i sliced the craft knife down the leather to make a hole for the lifter.Unfortunatly im gong to have to loose the door cards.

Well that all so far if anyone interested i can do pics of putting stuff back in but im sure most of you guys have had your engine out before, were also working on a 20v turbo conversion AUM pain in the arse.

So there you have it my long winded hello.

Welcome.
Sounds like a good project.
Get some pics up in the project section, all projects are different and people will be interested to see what you've done.
