Where are all the golfs??
« on: 19 July 2007, 15:47 »
Looking on Autotrader so that i can estimate how much my golf is worth, there seem to be hardly any Mk2 GTis on sale at the moment...seems odd as when i brought my car there were tonnes

Whats happened, we crashed 'em all or have all the enthusiasts (sp) brought them and they are tucked up in garages??

most of them are scapped for parts unfortunatly as with lots of older cars there worth lots more in spares than a car, ive seen so manty go that way even ones in good nick, its a shame really

MK2 will become a classic legendary car, in my eyes it already is.

Don't think people want to use auto trader for selling their mk2, if you notice there are just as few mk1's too. Its all down to where people look for cars like what we got, most have worked out that there are clubs all over the country and they are sold within these circles, even ebay has taken alot of sales off the auto trader, you can put more info about the car in the ad to start with. Ball park figure for a value of your car would be what someone would be willing to offer you, if you have spent alot on it and have receipts to prove the costs then that can help, but if you've proof then the whole look of the car is key.

I think a lot of MK2's are being broken for spares and I can understand it, I would rather break mine than sell it if I ended up with more loot at the end of it !
