Golf MK5 Brake Part Number

For all those with the dreaded groaning noise from their brakes on pulling up, here is the part number for the cure to your problem. Also covered in these threads to the background on this subject:

OK, here we go, the long awaited part number.

From VW Paderborn, Germany, the part which is screwed onto the brake calipers has the part number 1K0698998.

You should be able to contact your local dealers, quote this number and get it fixed on. So far, it works with mine, so good luck to you all.
