depends how you drive, and what your driving consists of, i.e long motorway runs or short trips in town. most i've got is 550 a tank (gt tdi 130) that was a long motorway run and a little in town (sticking to 70 ish on mway)

mostly get around 420ish a tank (i drive like i stole it normally )

Bio diesel smells like a chippy but it's cheap and good for the environment or summat!

i was going to start running bio in my pd but i heard stories that because of the high pressure injectors the slightest bit of dirt in the fuel can fook the injectors.

bio is a double edges sword because its cleaner than mineral as in lower emissions, its renewable, however the amount of land you need to grow the rape seed for it, could lead to world famine, as the amount of bio farms will out number the farms producing food.

Shell Diesel Extra, currently 93.9ppl. Getting about 45-55 mpg, depending how I drive. Car's a Skoda Superb TDI 130.

Incidentially, anyone tried V-Power diesel? Run the petrol in our GTI and I cna't fault it for MPG and running. Wondered if the diesel variant was the same...?

Oh, and supermarket fuel? Remember the Tesco/Morrison's fuel saga not so long ago...?

I'd like to know about v-power diesel aswell. Likewise, when I used the unleaded version in my petrol GTi I thought the performance was much better than using ordinary unleaded. Now I'm a TDI 150 convert I'd like to think the diesel version is as good. Anyone?

bp ultimate diesel is the best in my opinion, as its got the highest cetane rating - its just bloody expensive.
burns better than any other, cleans and reduces smoke - check there website for facts.

however i now run on shell standard diesel, as bp ultimate is far too expensive now. and i havent noticed any power loss and im still getting the same mpg.

i use forte diesel treatment every 7000 miles as reccomended to me by brother whos a mechanic, this cleans the entire fuel system, valves etc and reduces emissions- (just add contents to three quarters of a tank of diesel - not a full tank as they suggest - its more concentrated this way)

i have been told that supermarket fuels come from the total/elf/greenergy refinerys at lincoln and pembrokeshire? so is say sainsburys/tesco etc diesel the same as total or elf diesel?  :undecided: - it probably is though.

makes you wonder because there are only about 9 or 10 refinerys in the country.

I have just used my 1st full tank full & done 43.8 mpg (on Tesco diesel). All my journeys have been 5 milers apart from one 30 mile journey. Does this sound ok & what could I expect on a long run? (car is 99 gt tdi 110) thanks.

sounds about right for short journeys.  long journeys expect upwards of 50mpg :afro:

even at motorway speeds i've completed a 100 mile journey with 50mpg + and even saw 60!!  :smug:
