Apologies for resurrecting a very old thread, but I've just bought a Mk5 GTi and I'm getting the groaning at slow speed. Would I, as a layman, be able to tell if the replacement part has been fitted by looking at my brakes, or would it need to go to a dealer?
I just had a major service and there is some corrosion on the inside surface of my front discs apparently. Could that be the problem?
