not sure on prices but i'd try scrap yards etc.  most places these days salvage those sort of parts.

otherwise if you've got money to burn you could get uprated parts or just buy OEM from the stealers.

Another option might be to source an entire engine off Ebay or again the scrap yards.

like rhyso says your best bet is going to be the breakers,

i got a set of rear 256 MM brakes from;

V Dubs Ltd
(01732) 780111
London Road, Wrotham
Sevenoaks TN15 7RR

the other week, got a good price on them and i think they specialise in VAG salvage, there is also a VW specialist the unit down from them that might be able to give you a good price on fitting.

might also be worth getting a quote on how much for an engine transplant

thnaks for the response bro, it it not risky getting a turbo from a salvage place as it may well be close to knackered already? also what are the beneifts of getting an engine transplant in my situation? will this not go through the roof in terms of the price??

you might say its risky but it depends why the car is there.

these days you can have you car written off from a rear end shut at which point the engine has taken no damage, and one from the breakers should save you a fortune.

getting a transplant would give you the option to drop a bigger lump in if you want more power.

ashmound should be able to give you some sort of idea on how much a swap would cost.
