The M5 GTI corridor
« on: 12 July 2007, 23:50 »
I may make myself sound like a sad git here but here goes anyway.  Was drivin along the M5 towards wocester today for work and saw plenty of juicy gtis and r32s on the way there and back - just wanted to say it makes the drive back home much more pleasureable and less stressful, especially after a hecktik (spelling?) days work.
ED30 gti 5dr pearlescent black with DSG, xenons, bluetooth, tinted windows, ipod, rear parking sensors, highline....and a huge grin!

Saw two black EDITION 30's on the M6 going south today, say 2pm'ish... they were stuck in the same traffic jam as me from junction 22 down... weird that they were literally next to each other... I though they might be driving convoy!
We should start a "GTi's spotted" thread...
Mk 5 GTi, Tornado Red, Leather, Xenons, 18" Monza II's, Sunroof, 6CD in Armrest, Winter pack & Tinted Windows... soon to be adding ED30 front spoiler, plus R32 sideskirts... then getting fully colour coded!
New engine fitted when car was at 27k... last one went "noisey".

I used to commute from Birmingham/Ipswich to Bristol/Newport and I have to say that from my experience - and I travel/drive a lot, the M5 had the highest concentration of Mk5 GTIs - not sure about R32s though - I've seen more on the M25/M4

I must sit with my head up my backside....

I've only ever seen one other Ed30 on the roads, and that was on the M4 near heathrow, and one other R32 (which I see a lot since I know the owner!), back up here in the north.

I live in the north, but travel the whole UK with some regularity...

Lots of  GTI's however... ( I'm loathed to  use 'normal' or 'vanilla' as a GTI is anything but normal ).

ED 30 ... Best car I've had yet.....

3 door Steel Grey ED 30 GTI rear tints, IPOD connection, parking sensors, Lux pack 1, auto dip/fold mirrors...

I had a red Ed30 following me for about 30 miles from Dundee to Aberdeen.  I was a bit dubious when I had about 35 miles to go till I was home and the remaining distance on my highline was saying 45... so I pulled into a petrol station - and they carried on!
