hay!! hope some one can help. i hav a 1991 mk2 golf with a 1996 vr6 engine. about 3 hours ago i was driving happy down the m62 near leeds, i seemed to notice a little what i think to hve been a little bit of burnt oil coming thought the exhaust. then i noticed the car was running a little warm and the oil temp up to 146oC.
most of the coolant has gone, seems very wet around the bottle like it has bubbled over, as i remember the fans did not kick in and the top hose was very warm but the bottom hose was cold.
any ideas, i am thinking thermostat HOPING its not the head, but recently early 2007 it has had a polished and ported head so head gastet was renewed then.
what are these jobs like to do?
any little help in the right direction would be brill
