Moisture in high level brake light.

Has anybody had moisture in their high level brake light? I noticed some in mine when I picked the car up, but it went away after a week. However, I noticed that it has returned. I'm just a bit concerned as electrics and moisture are not a good combination.
Anyone had this problem?
Cheers.

I have it too. I'm not that concerned as it's only 12 volts. Dealer will look at it come service time, unless she visits the dealers sooner. Doesn'w seem worth a trip on it's own.

yes, had this ages ago also, havent seen it since, posted about it, but no one else said they had the same problem, all i would say is avoid hi pressure car wash power lances. i think thats how mine got dampness inside it.

i think it could be that the heat from the roof or spoiler transmits into the spoiler brake light, same thing happens with the xeon lights at the front where thats classed as normal aswell with condensation build ufrom the heat from the engine behind. im not a scientist but i think my theory may be right?

Autocar's long term test white GTI had it's rear high level brake light peel off after washing , for some reason they got charged £110 to have it fixed, I'd have thought warranty job for sure! From Autocar Golf GTI Final report 28 Feb 2007, page 93.

New engine fitted when car was at 27k... last one went "noisey".

Ye, I have that..........
Phil, I know what you mean about the Xenons. Mine did that at first. The brake light though has beads of moisture and a sold band of moisture in parts.

The xenons in my old fabia vrs used to suffer condensation aswell... but so far the golf is clear!
