S3 V GTI
« on: 08 July 2007, 17:18 »
Hi folks,3 months ago i decided to trade my Mk.5 GTI DSG for the local Audi dealer's demo S3.Though the Audi is that bit quicker as a driving experience i'd say GTI was just that little bit more fun,and ranking it amongst a long line of 'hot hatches' i've owned in the past 20 yrs or so,probably comes a close second to a 1.9 205 GTI I kept for a record 3 years!Still waiting for my revenge on a guy in a pearl blue R32 who whupped me at the lights a couple of times in the Mk.5!In a non-aggressive 'friendly banter' type way of course!Anyway, despite previously had a run of 7 consecutive Golfs i'm going to stay with the Audi until new Scirroco thingy arrives, hope they do it in the Lime green of the concept!Still enjoy logging on here and seeing what's new with you guys, despite no longer having my white wonder.

Yeah it is,in metallic black, most options except the flat-bottomed steering wheel(bugger!).I've been amazed the attention it gets, particularly young lads,to my eyes it's looks are very understated compared to the earlier S3.I will try my best with pics, never seem to be able to upload on here for some reason.

hate to say it, but i prefer the looks of the white GTi with the BBS alloys you had, that S3 looks too simular to the S-line series, and wouldnt make me look twice at it. Sorry to say it, im just a GTi geek i guess, but as a pulling machine, i'd rather be seen in the GTi. just my pennys worth.
Cracking car though noj66, black is a lovelly colour

Cheers Phil, yeah i really loved the GTI,i'd just leave it in sport and blast through the gears listening to the exhaust pop!The Audi is just as good though, just in different ways.To be honest i'm a total car geek and would have a garage of about 25 if funds allowed.
