Any suggestions of where to find the bits i need please tell/pm me!

Why dont you trade it for a cheap low spec GTi?, is it because your young and insurance is a problem??  i can see the amount of changes your planning will cost a small fortune?, not sure it makes sense, but cant blame you for wanting it to resemble such a great car in the 1st place. good luck and some pics of the finished article wouldnt go a miss.

Was thinking that myself. Gonna cost a small fortune to spec that car up.

Its probably cheaper to pay GTI insurance than buy all those bits?!
Plus they'll be worth no extra on the car when you sell it - unless you sell the bits seperately.

here we go. the colour coding is costing £250 and the interior was £375, aftermarket wheels would be the same if i had bought a gti because would still want them. The front bumper will be from a scrap yard and cost about £250, so i have onlt spent about 1k for those bits and i would prefer to pay 1k on top of the car i bought and it be a diesel.I am 26 but its my everyday car as my sporty car is a bit of a guzzler!

Fair point, should look nice when done, the GTi additions are such a big improvement so can understand why you are doing. Very easy for people to be critical over this sort of thing.

I was about to post something similar to Phil, as there have been some crap GTI rip offs on here.  But your reasons are valid and so good luck with it, looking forward to seeing it finished.

One point to remember is to tell your insurance company what you have done, as any changes from standard spec make it "modified" in their eyes and those guys will look for any reason to invalidate your insurance if you make a claim.  :nerd:
