Maybe, although I never met the guy, could be he didn't realise the car should have ABS.

ABS is a bastard to test in older cars anyhow, my audi has abs, and 2 of 4 sensors are knackered, however the light comes on, on the dash and then goes out. Bonus, and they don't test it at MOT time, as long as it brakes sufficiently then that's fine.

  • Looking for an "Icebreaker"
Once all the above checks have been done, and still no joy, try disconnecting the battery LIVE first, then reconnect EARTH first... you never know!
i'd check the flux capicitor if i were you.
Really Tom, Its blatently obvious this is no "Flux Capacitor" problem! what were you thinking!

  • Hello, my name is John and I'm a dub addict.
what about simply removing the handbrake light switch panel and replace it for one sans-abs light, if it doesn't have a light at all, how would MOT man know it has abs ;)

WAHEY!!!! She passed, after a week of tracing wires and making sure everything is connected properly, and renewing a few little bits and bobs the ABS is sorted!

Now i've gone and done something that some of you may find stupid, but i've stuck a slam panel out of a normal mk2 and stuck an early 7 bar single light grill on my Rallye. Dunno if anyone ever done this before because i aint seen any pics of a Rallye with round lights, and i only done it because the Rallye lights failed because my projectors were "frosted" over givin no pattern for the MOT. I quite like the look of her now though and am gonna stick like this for a bit, or see how she looks with a badgeless single lighter anyhow. I'll take a pic of her later and stick it up..

Oh yeah, big thanks to everyone for all your info tho
