Just been quoted by DSGWagen on Ebay £1060 plus £40 delivery which includes 4x rims, 4x centres and 4x metal valves which apparently are needed and they are genuine BBS wheels.  So then say £130 a corner for some decent tyres.... ouch!  Thats £1620 in total... plus the cost to fit them... hmmmm.... expensive... goes to show what a bargain they are when ordered as an option...

Not interested in replica Monza's to be honest... if worse comes to the worse, I will just keep the CH's...

I would have thought you could get at least £400 for your 19's on ebay, and if you shop around you can get some deals on semi-decent rubber like Avon ZZR for around £90 a corner to get you going on your 18" Monzas. For me the GTI has to have 18" Monzas, no question.
2007 GTI with a hint of Bluefin.

Monza II is a sweet wheel, a true bargain as the ordered option on a new golf for sure, but damn costly to buy afterwards! Am I correct in believing the black 18" Monza is now available to the UK through the VW network ?

Cheers Phil - that is most helpful

Northerner,
The wheels are BBS VZ and are from a shop in Germany, they are the 8 x 18" VAG alloy, with the correct centre bore/offset and uses the standard wheels bolts and locks. You get BBS centres not VW and you don't get the 'motorsport' logo around them like your CH wheels have. I think the 'Pescara' wheel is 7.5 x 18 in size but that is the only difference that I can see. I ordered and payed through paypal and received the wheels in three days, tracking number was supplied next day and the German Logistics Service website was updated daily as to the location of the wheels. Item numbers on ebay are here= http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BBS-8-x-18-ET44-LK-5-112-VZ-033-CH-AUDI-A-3-VW-GOLF-V_W0QQitemZ300125560229QQihZ020QQcategoryZ9888QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem.
Item no 300125560229. Hope all that works as I am a bit new to this........ :embarassed:

Wow... I would be dissapointed to only get around £400 for them...would have hoped for a min £600... (as in half price from new, but with tyres - even though not the best) - hell, if I only got £400 then I would keep em

try http://www.alloywheels.com/product.asp?P_ID=868&V_ID=3831&strPageHistory=search&strKeywords=golf%20gti&numPageStartPosition=1&strSearchCriteria=any&PT_ID=all&Make=&Model=&strSize=18"&searchSize=all&strSort=None

It is Rochford tyres they will sell you 4 Monza's with new tyres for £463 + vat. You can specify the tyre you want and upgrade at a small cost.
They are not original VW alloys but you can't tell the diference.
I used this company before to get M3 alloy replica's they were very good copies and the customer service was excellent. delivered to the door balanced and immaculate.
You get new nuts, centre caps etc.

I then sold my old alloys with near bald tyres on ebay for £100 less than I bought the new alloys with all new tyres (bargain )

Note: it is illegal to sell a bald or damaged tyre.

Beg to differ, but the monza 11 reps i had from rochford startes loosing their laquer very early on. I brought them to put some winter tyres on (vredestien wintrac extreme -recommended)

The laquer started to drop of even before the winter salting started, despite being sealed with poorboys wheel guard.
