Faulty Electric Sunroof
« on: 02 July 2007, 15:08 »
Hey all,

Got a Mk4 GTI...the sunroof is giving me grief. Basically the interior cover for it got knocked off its rail and broke, then the actual sunroof got jammed by this, and then there was a loud bang and something snapped...lol getting the gist now??

So glass is hanging off at one side and cant be opened or closed, at min is duct taped down...really not a good look! Need advice as to how about fixing it cos i have heard scary things cost wise about this!!

Any help appreciated!

mine did this, lukily it had just slipped off the runner and into the mechanism for opening the roof.

try and move the roof lining down and have a look, then see if you can move the runners back down into the tracks using someneedle nose pliers, worked for me:)

and in future use the handle in the centre to open the roof :D
