After few days of dilemma I decide to order GTI with accessories that I want, but also I try to find best buy solution because optional accessories are unreal expensive.

So I have question about aftermarket xenons, I don't like it (wrong beam etc..), but orig. bi-xenons cost approx 1000GBP, and aftermarket cost 90GBP. Original bi-xenons have lens, and if I regret and decide to buy orig. xenons, I have to pay it more than 1000GBP (hella headlamps + hid kit + shipping cost + install)..  :undecided:

Same question about navigation, I find some navigation on ebay for 200-250GBP, at VW navigation cost 1800GBP??  :undecided:

..and any other tips'n'tricks or suggestion... Thnx.

Get original xenons
Do not get original nav.

THink "COST EFFECTIVENESS". Factory xenons are very cost-effective.
Factory NAV is totally overpriced, absolutely NOT cost-effective.

I echo what Peskarik said, the original xenons are worth the price... easily.
I reckon a few years down the road all cars with have xenon lights as standard... and they will be seen as a necessity, not an option... they really improve nighttime driving... guess that is good when the British Government decides to switch off all road lights as part of a cost saving and environmentally friendly philosophy...
Mk 5 GTi, Tornado Red, Leather, Xenons, 18" Monza II's, Sunroof, 6CD in Armrest, Winter pack & Tinted Windows... soon to be adding ED30 front spoiler, plus R32 sideskirts... then getting fully colour coded!
New engine fitted when car was at 27k... last one went "noisey".

Agree - get factory Xenons as they are really superb and afternarket kits cannot match them. Go aftermarket DVD SatNav. You can get it a VW one on eBay for about £400 and the install is simple DIY. Alternatively, there are some great in dependent aftermarket SatNav's out there with features such as touch screen, 3D view, full postcode search and iPod integration.

I decide

GTi Edition 30 DSG

- tornado red
- Climatronic (aut. clima)
- bi-xenon
- Multifunction steering wheel & paddleshift

..I have questions about "Multifunction computer" - 50GBP, what is it, boardcomputer is standard option?

What radio system to take, if I decide to buy aftermarket navigation?

£50 is for the upgraded Highline computer and is worth the money; means you can alter settings that would otherwise mean a trip to the stealers!

as us regulars to the forum know, you cant legally fit after market bi-xenons to any car, as you need auto leveling on the axle and washers fitted by law.

so get the factory ones, wish I did!

If you are thinking about cruise control, then get it from the dealers. It is £150 as opposed to £270 from the factory
It also can be a license saver if you use the motorways regularly
