im just unsure about the colour it looks a bit faded i was wondering if anyone had any advice on restoring the colour what it might look like and well if its gonna just look faded still after i give it a Tcut and wax i want to mod it so i might need to get a respray for it to look good does anyone know how much that cost? or as anyone got any general advice about what they think?

a re-spray can cost from between 800 to say 3 grand depending on who does it and what is done and what look your after! bare metal cost much more than say a blow over!

i dont think i can afford a respray yet! i think im gonna keep it red anyway. does anyone have any tips on restoring the orangeish looking paint work back to a a nice red?

is some Tcutting and some waxing up to the job ?!?!?!

that colour is flash red and is more orangey anyway I would say its a poor picture go and look at the car I would be more worried about the door alignment myself

yeah i noticed that i was hoping when he got out to take the pics he didnt close the door properly.that was the other thing i wanted to know about.well i guess i best go check it out in person

My mates old mk2 was pretty faded like that, he tcutted the whole car and it brought it up really well, wasn't perfect but a marked improvement - took pretty much a whole saturday up and a lot of elbow grease but it's worth the work.

Also - if you do get it, for God's sake please change those wheels!

if the paints and just faded, get a bodyshop to use g3 to cut the paint, but your better off seeing the car first, pics can be decieving, id be more worried about that door fitting, looks like its dropped or just not shut properly

yeah i think im gonna give it a rearly good tcut and several coats of wax and see how it comes up!

i got these off my mate for £100 there 17 with low profile tyres there 4 studs not 5 like in pic i think they shud fit ...

still for £100 im not gonna complain if they dont fit i think i can make the money back on  ebay!


yeah i noticed that door too im still hopefull though that he just left it open slightly when he got out to take the pics thanks for the advice and thats the 1st thing im gonna check.

looking at the rest of the pics on the ad the paint doesn't look anywhere near as orange. as the last stamp for service is at 76k and it's got 102k now i'd check to see if and when the cambelt was done.

also check to see if the carpet is dry. check the mk3 section for the reason why.

theres nothing specific really for the 1.4 golf to check. just the usual when you buy any car .
