23 week wait !!

Ordered my Golf GTI in late March and was exspecting it soon but received a letter off MotorProvider yesterday saying......

We are writing to you to update you on the current position with VW. It has been alleged that VW are making life very difficult for all European countries exporting RHD cars. Under new regulations this is not legal and much pressure has been put to bear on VW.

It would appear that this position has been resolved (after threats of legal action) and VW are working overtime to process all outstanding orders.

I'm due to get my car in early September now allowing me to reg it on a 57 plate unfortunatly I've already bought an 07 personalised plate which obviously I'll now have to change.

I think Motorprovider are just as much a victim in this as I am but it doesn't make the 23 week wait any easier !! :cry:

Does anybody know anymore on this subject ?

by the the way, I take it you know you can put an 07 plate on a 57 plate car, but then you probably want a 57 plate!

Its a shame my car is an 07 otherwise I'd be after that one!!

23 weeks...
My 14 weeks seemed like an eternity.  23 must be hell.  I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end though

Seacap - in the same boat - only worse. My wait will be over 30 weeks.

The guys on the forum said it was risky, but the saving is significant so I hope it all works out.

VW dealer in my town (Split, Croatia) promise me 8 to max. 12 weeks waiting for full options GTI, but when I read posts like this I'm undecided, take GTI from dealer car park without some options, or order it and pray.  :undecided:


hope you get your GTi as soon as posible..  :smiley:

Hiya

Got the same letter last week. Ordered mine in late February, was told I had a PDI in late June.

Have done a search of all my local dealers and ones I can easily get to, the most I have offered off was £500 quid! Also looked at second hand ex demo and can't find anything suitable.

Have decided to wait and keep my fingers crossed, also tweaked the spec slightly. To be honest don't mind waiting but get pissed off with the lack of updates, more updates would manage the expectation better!

They are quoting over 100 orders outstanding, did they mention a 'komn' number as well they quoted me as build week 30 which is late July.

add me to that list, but we ordered at the end of may and from what ive been reading we will be lucky to see it this side of christmas. :rolleyes:
