Problem with MFD display (Highline)
« on: 24 June 2007, 15:29 »
Hi All, someone over at Tyresmoke directed me over here.

I have a problme with the highline display on my MY06 R32, its been faulty for some time but now seems to have given up completly and it does not show any info, its used to vary between a full display and a fully blank display and sometimes it was partially working and partially not, for about the last 10 days its been blank.

Although I have had the fault for a few months I have not taken it to the stealers for 2 reasons,
1) I dont want them making my car rattle and creak,
2) I was hoping that this was a common problem and that someone would post an easy fix!

Its clear that I am not the only one with the problem but I have not seen much info about it. I found a post here from The Doc saying that it was a known fault that he could fix but it didnt give any details.

So what should I do? takle it to the stealers or try and find out how to fix it myself? Docs posts seemed to imply the fix was easy if you know the details!!

Thanks

Cannot find any relevant thread but I would recommend taking it to the dealer to fix under warranty. It may well need the display unit changed if it has lost all display and functionality. I had an Audi TT a few years ago and I lost some of the computer LED display. The whole dash pod unit was replaced under warranty. Good fix and no squeaks or rattles either. No point in driving a car like this without all the toys working
