Interior Grab Handles... wear & tear
« on: 22 June 2007, 18:01 »
Meant to ask this a while a go... beofre setting on the GTi I bought, I had seen 3 other GTi's - all were 05 plate with 20k+ miles on the clock.. on each one I noticed that the Interior Grab Handle (with the controls built in) on the driver side was "pockmarked"... i.e. small indentions in it... like its been stabbed with a pin of roughed up... just wondered if it a known issue that these things wear quite quickly from day to day use?
I will post some pictures as my purchased golf suffers from this, although to a much lesser extent that the 3 others...
I might actually look to get it replaced by VW as it brings the overall look of the interior down a little.
Mk 5 GTi, Tornado Red, Leather, Xenons, 18" Monza II's, Sunroof, 6CD in Armrest, Winter pack & Tinted Windows... soon to be adding ED30 front spoiler, plus R32 sideskirts... then getting fully colour coded!
New engine fitted when car was at 27k... last one went "noisey".
