When does the low fuel warning light come on - when approx 50 miles left in the tank?

Mine's about 40/45 miles, which doesn't leave much time to fill up.

Seems to be dependant on an ECU update. i remember we discussed this before and all had slightly different results. Mine comes on at 40 miles.

Normally about 50/55 miles, which was the same as my Passat too.

Never had the warning light on with the ED30, but the MKV TDI used to come on with about 50 miles left. I have played Jeremy Clarkson's fuel game where you wait till the warning light comes on and see how far you can get without running out of fuel. The warning light came on with 50 miles to go and I was 70+ miles from Torquay. Suffice to say I pulled up at the last Petrol station after doing 72 miles with only a few hundred yards left to go

I dont think there is any need to start a new thread like this in the MKIV forum, does anyone know many miles us MKIV people have to fill up when we get the evil light come up?
