on a rainy day my doors leak from the top and down onto my seats, is this more likely the gutter strip thingy or the door seals?

gutter stip id say, mine did the same when my strips were baddly ripped & cracked. A new set solved it

I would agree, although check your door is not bent at the top preventing a good seal.
