Cleaning Alloys

Thaught I'd try Cillit Bang on my alloys yesterday and I'm astonished with the result! Had brake dust that had built up in areas - making it impossible to remove all of it (even with a jet washer about 1cm away!). Anyway, tried cillit bang on these areas and it took it right off! Get an old cloth, put it just below the area so that the CB stays in a mini puddle on the brake dust for about 20 seconds, give it a quick rub off and it's gone! Would highly recommend it to anyone with brake dust 'stains' on their wheels.

isn't Cilit Bang acidic?? 

reason i query that is because i wouldn't have thought it would be very good in the long term for alloys

Most wheel cleaner's are acidic (thats why some state you should wear gloves on the bottle!!) I think wonder wheel's is one of the most acidic but it's one of the most popular and people dont have problems using it..

Yep most wheel cleaners contain phosphoric acid which is why they shouldn't be used on unlaquered wheels.

Wonderwheels.......get it in 5litre tubs from cosco. Put it in a spray bottle, spray over the wheel, then go over it with a brush to sorta move most of the dirt thats baked on. Spray again, then clean with a very wet sponge.

Trust me, 15inch White alloy wheels need cleaning a lot.

clean your wheels very oftern and u will never need any special cleaner, i do mine between washing the car, best way, i once spent hours cleaning a wheel and im not up for doing that again, wonder wheels flicking up into your eyes aint good
